I love taking time for sweet and simple getting ready candids and portraits of brides at the beginning of their wedding day. Adding time for these photos into your timeline allows you as the bride to slow down and enjoy some quieter moments before the beautiful whirlwind of events picks up on your special day.

When photographing these moments, I enjoy collaborating with each bride and listening to what she values most. Some brides love large, styled flat-lays of all of the details they chose for their day, while others prefer more natural and candid-looking snaps of a few of their favorite details. For this bride, we embraced a more natural feel with minimal posing that allowed for slow-paced, peaceful moments. This bright, window-filled space at Oyster Bay Yacht Club in Fernandina Beach, Florida provided a beautiful backdrop for these getting-ready moments.
